Our Science curriculum aims to be fully inclusive to every pupil, with the ambition of nurturing students holistically and academically.  We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, to ensure the progressive development of knowledge and skills, so that they understand more about the world around them and how things work.

At Key Stage 3, pupils study a range of topics from the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.  At Key Stage 4, pupils are study and complete coursework towards an AIM Award qualification or they will work towards a GCSE Physics qualification with the AQA examination board.

Social and emotional learning and mental health underpins the Science curriculum.  This is done through the knowledge of the topics we study and through the skills we develop, such as:

  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Take risks safely
  • How to keep our minds and bodies healthy
  • How drugs can affect us
  • How to be resilient when things go wrong
  • How to listen to views that are different to our own
  • To be proud of our achievements
  • To celebrate our success
