The length of our school day

Chaselea aims to provide as close to 32.5 hours per week of school time as is possible. Students in alternative provision attend for 5 hours and 15 minutes per day, however as a provision we are acutely aware of the significant distance that most of our students travel and therefore an increase in this time could be detrimental to our students.
Chaselea Alternative Provision Academy believe that our school timetable complies with the below extract from the DFE guidance

Specialist settings, including special schools and alternative provision, support a wide range of pupils with diverse needs and therefore currently structure their school week in more varied ways than mainstream schools. Therefore, the expectation for a minimum school week of 32.5 hours does not apply to these settings. However, specialist settings should share the overall ambition to increase the length of the school week, where it is beneficial for their pupils to do so
